What does comprehensive community development look like?
A handsome new video by LISC provides one answer, with images of neighbors and neighborhoods that have been impacted by programs supported by Twin Cities LISC.
It can be difficult to define how the different moving parts of a comprehensive approach work together. By simply explaining with numbers, examples and heartfelt testimony what has improved across North Minneapolis due to the commitment of a mixture of partner organizations, the video shows what can be accomplished.
“It is about places,” said Andriana Abariotes, the executive director of Twin Cities LISC, about LISC’s Building Sustainable Communities strategy in the introduction, “but it’s about what happens in those places.”
The video touches on how LISC-supported programs have made a difference in affordable housing, improving family income, helping local businesses, impacting education and early childhood development, and improving public safety.
Put it all together, and its easy to imagine how North Minneapolis is becoming a better place to live and what these new opportunities mean for local residents.
