Health Center Collaborates with Grocery Store on Healthy Living in Brockton, Mass.

An article in the December issue of the Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits explores how the innovative use of New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) through the Healthy Futures Fund (a partnership between LISC, Morgan Stanley and The Kresge Foundation) helped investors expand health care and healthy food access for low-income residents of Brockton, Mass. The location of Brockton Neighborhood Health Center’s new facility adjacent to Vicente Tropical Supermarket allows health center staff to work closely with residents to promote healthy lifestyle choices.
